Grace Participates in Days of Giving

July 13 - July 17

Have you heard?  During the week of July 13th – 17th, Grace Christian School (GCS) will be participating in the 2020 Armstrong Day of Giving.  The Armstrong County Community Foundation will be once again sponsoring this event in partnership with NexTier Bank.  If you are unfamiliar with this event, details are available on the foundation’s website: www.servingtheheart.org.

When the ball dropped in Times Square at midnight and we saw “2020” flashing in the lights, who would have imagined the year would have been like this? Due to COVID-19 the new year has left us with major event cancellations all over the United States.  Therefore, Grace Christian School is very grateful that the Armstrong County Community Foundation and NexTier Bank have been able to reschedule the Day of Giving despite these setbacks.

Grace Christian School will participate in this fundraising event. Our goal is to raise $40,000.  These funds enable the school to hire qualified teachers, maintain and upgrade our facilities, and to continually enhance the school’s programs.   The COVID-19 situation has put an extra burden on the school to provide the space and personnel to meet the CDC guidelines for the upcoming year.

Of note, the Community Foundation is not a participant and will not be eligible for any of the Day of Giving donations or bonus funds. They host the Day of Giving simply to help area nonprofits like us! We get every penny of the money we bring in for our own organization, plus some bonus money on eligible donations!

So, mark your calendars. We will be sending out more information closer to the date.

We hope that you will help us make a difference by donating to us during the week of July 13th-17th, 2020!

Because of His Grace,

Darlene Edwards

Head of School
