About Grace Christian School
|
In America, many people are
blessed with the ability to
choose from a wide variety of
learning environments for their
children – public, private, and
non-denominational schools like
Grace Christian among them. We
value this right to determine
the school that will surely have
an effect on our children’s
lives and futures as it is the
place where our children will
spend most of their days with
teachers, faculty, and peers. The Book of Luke states that the student who is fully trained will be like his teacher. At Grace Christian School, you can feel confident that our teachers will provide your child with much more than a quality academic education. At Grace, Godly character and a biblically centered viewpoint are things your child will witness every day. Our teachers want to help prepare children to become world-changers, and this differentiates Grace Christian from other private schools in our area. Academically, our staff is made up of teachers who are qualified and ready to expose children to a challenging education, which will fully prepare them for the next phase of their schooling once they graduate. When students leave Grace Christian, they are well-equipped to succeed intellectually at any academic institution. Due to our small classes that provide a warm and inviting community in which to flourish, students at Grace are also prepared emotionally. Grace is a special place where children feel accepted and valued. As you search for the right learning environment, please remember that Grace Christian School understands that every child is created for a purpose in life, and we want to help fully prepare each child to fulfill that purpose. Please consider joining our school community and call us today. May God richly bless you and guide you in your important decision regarding your child’s future. |
| Philosophy Statement |
Grace Christian School provides a consistent academic education integrated with God’s worldview equipping minds to function as godly citizens in the world.
GCS offers an education that exposes its students to the world
in which they live. GCS goes one step further: it offers an
education from the perspective that God is creator and master of
all things in this world, including education. No man knows the
mind of God, yet man is exhorted to live under God’s wisdom as,
“The fear of the Lord is the beginning of knowledge,” (Proverbs
1:7).
Curriculum is designed to be presented with Christ at the core
of learning. It is also designed to reflect the changing world.
Maintaining learning from the past and incorporating that
knowledge into the learning of the present is essential for
learning in the future. GCS holds to the truth that, “Jesus
Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever.” (Hebrews
13:8)
| Mission Statement |
Our Mission at Grace Christian School is to grow children through Christ-centered academic excellence. “…grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. (2 Peter 3:18)
| Objectives |
A student leaving Grace Christian School will be equipped
with learning tools that draw from a well-balanced worldview
that is presented under the authority of God.
All students will be expected to leave GCS with a biblical
worldview, to be well prepared in all academic disciplines, to
perform on or above grade level, to know that all truth is God’s
truth, and equipped to adopt a statement of faith to follow a
Kingdom path resulting in character qualities that prepares them
for eternal life. “…so that the man of God may be thoroughly
equipped for every good work.” (2 Timothy 3:17)
At Grace Christian School children receive a solid education
integrating God’s Word into every aspect of their education,
equipping students for life in the world. The aim of Grace
Christian School is for children to grow and flourish in God’s
love, and extending and sharing their gifts with others.
A spiritual and academic foundation will serve children as
adults in a challenging world where knowledge is power and Godly
wisdom is life. We live in a time of “new truth and new reality”
that comes from world opinion instead of from Biblical wisdom.
Grace Christian School’s educational agenda is crucial to the
understanding that it is important not to move in a stream of
thought that is narrow-minded, intolerant and ignorant. Grace
Christian School is designed to help in developing hearts and
minds that embrace God and enable students to adopt or challenge
opinions about everyday aspects of life. Social conduct and
cultural responsibility are formed differently for the student
who has been educated in Christ. Knowing God’s word and
believing in its reliability provides the student timeless and
unchanging truths in the midst of a cultural war aimed to weaken
the effectiveness of God’s children.
| Statement of Faith |
|
WE BELIEVE the Bible to be verbally inspired in its original
form, the only infallible, authoritative Word of God (2 Timothy
3:16-17; 2 Peter 1:20-21). WE BELIEVE that there is one God eternally existed in three persons: Father, Son and Holy Spirit (Matthew 28:19). WE BELIEVE that all things are created by God and for Him (Genesis 1:1, 26; Isaiah 45:18; Revelation 4:11; John 1:3). WE BELIEVE all the truths of faith in Jesus Christ: (John 1:1-14, John 14:3, Colossians 1:15-17) in His conception by the Holy Spirit (Luke 1:35); in His virgin birth (Matthew 1:18-25); in His sinless life (2 Corinthians 5:21); in His miraculous works (John 11:47); in His substitutionary death through His shed blood (1 Peter 2:24); in His literal bodily resurrection (John 20:20-29); in His ascension to the right hand of the Father (Mark 16:19, 1 Timothy 2:5); in the outpouring of the Holy Spirit (Acts 2:3,4); and in His glorious second coming (Acts 1:11, Revelation 20:1-9, Matthew 24:26; 1Thessalonians 4:13-17). WE BELIEVE in the totally depraved and lost condition of man by nature (Jeremiah 17:9, Romans 3:23) and by salvation by grace through faith in the Lord Jesus Christ wholly apart from works (Ephesians 2:8-10, John 3:3-7, John 1:12,13, Titus 3:5-7); the evidence of which is works of righteousness. WE BELIEVE that all who receive, by faith, the Lord Jesus Christ as their personal Lord and Savior are born again of the Holy Spirit and thereby become children of God (John 3:5,15, Romans 3:21-30, Galatians 4:4-7). WE BELIEVE in the personality of the Holy Spirit and in His present ministry of conviction, regeneration, indwelling, enlightening and guiding (John 16:7-11, John 3:5, l Corinthians 6:19, John 14:26, John 16:13). WE BELIEVE in the resurrection of both the saved and the lost; they are saved unto resurrection of life, and they are lost unto resurrection of damnation (John 5:28,29); First resurrection (1 Thessalonians 4:13-17); Second resurrection (Revelation 20:1-9). WE BELIEVE in the spiritual unity of all believers in Christ (John 17:11, Ephesians 4:13). WE BELIEVE that it is our obligation to teach our children Biblical principles |
